TUFF-TAPE PLASTERBOARD JOINT TAPE 30M
Technical data - characteristics
length [m]: 30 m
thickness: 0.4 mm
width: 57 mm
Product description
TUFF-TAPE tape is used for bonding plasterboard on flat surfaces
(such as ceiling or walls) in place of mesh, fleece, paper tape, paper tape with aluminium insert,
and for finishing internal corners.
The tape is excellent for masking cracks and scratches on ceilings and walls, as well as for surface repairs,
where the mesh or paper has deteriorated.
TUFF-TAPE, due to its lack of reaction with water, is used in areas exposed to moisture,
where paper tape could be damaged (e.g. around baths and showers).

Directions for use
Cut the tape to the correct length and trim the ends at a 45 degree angle.
Apply gypsum compound (except for quick-drying gypsum such as building plaster).
Apply the gypsum compound and place the TUFF-TAPE tape at the destination.
For internal corners - fold the tape lengthways (with the lettering facing inwards), then gently straighten it out and stick it, pressing it to the internal corner.
Adjust the tape to create a straight corner line at the fold.
Remove excess plaster compound with a spatula, leaving no air bubbles under the tape.
Cover the tape with a thin layer of gypsum compound about 1 mm thick, aligning with the wall plane, leave to dry.
For internal corners - do not fill the corner itself with gypsum compound after installing the tape. This will keep the corner line straight.
Re-apply gypsum compound if necessary and allow to dry.
Smooth out any irregularities with sandpaper with a gradation of at least 180.
Sand the inner bend line of the tape with the edge of the bent sandpaper.
When creating a flat surface with plasterboards in the place of their connection finished with the original chamfer, which is connected with another wall at a different angle, the tape applied at the internal corner or external corner should be put on the tape connecting the boards which form the flat surface.
When creating a flat surface with plasterboards that do not have a chamfer. Where they are joined to another wall at different angles, the joint tape of the boards constituting the flat surface must be applied to the joint tape applied in the inner corner or the outer corner. In both of the above cases, this will prevent the corner line from curving.
